Why We Built This Site
Public court access can be hard to route correctly. The Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts maintains Common Pleas General Division, Domestic Relations, and Eighth District records, while Probate, Juvenile Court, and municipal courts use distinct systems. The Clerk's Case Records Search System is the primary route for selected Common Pleas civil, criminal, and appeal cases. It is not a countywide index and Ohio does not provide a statewide individual-case substitute.
Information here is organized to help a reader identify the relevant court, clerk, search channel, and record-request path. Official court records and certified copies still come from the court or clerk that maintains them.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket information: criminal court dockets and civil court dockets in Cuyahoga County.
- Hearing information: the court-specific checks used to confirm a Court Schedule entry.
- Search routes: a Docket Search by case number or name through the proper local channel.
- Record access: Court Case Records, copies, and the responsible records custodian.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference resource, not a Cuyahoga County or Ohio government office. It cannot retrieve official case files, alter a court setting, seal or amend a case, issue a certified document, or provide legal advice. Current information should be confirmed with the originating court or clerk.
- Official docket sheets and case files must be obtained from the responsible custodian.
- Only the court can schedule, continue, or reset a hearing.
- Only the court can decide a sealing, restriction, or amendment request.
- Certified copies are issued by the clerk or court that maintains the original record.
For a Common Pleas case, the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts is the records custodian. Probate, Juvenile Court, and municipal-court records require their separate clerk or court channel.
Search Partners
Some pages include sponsored search tools run by third-party providers. Those providers control their services, prices, and results. A paid referral may support operation of this resource. Third-party search results are not official court records and must be verified with the responsible court or clerk.
